Kansas Forest Service Hosts Community Forestry Workshop in Hays
Submitted by Jennifer Williams
Planting and maintaining trees in the harsh, diverse conditions of Northwest Kansas can be difficult. Join us at the Northwest Kansas Community Forestry workshop on Wednesday, February 22, to learn how to select the right trees for your landscape, and how to maintain those trees for a lifetime of health, beauty, and value.
Special sessions will address recovering trees of storm-damaged towns, common disease and pest issues facing trees and shrubs of Northwest Kansas (and how to combat those issues), and ways to enhance your community through forestry projects.
This workshop offers 4.25 continuing education units for the International Society of Arboriculture for those who attend.
For details, and to register, email jseirer@ksu.edu. Registration fee: $35/person, due upon arrival. Please make checks payable to Kansas Forest Service.
