National Professional Development Opportunity: Achieving the Extension Mission through Volunteers
I am pleased to share the Professional Development Opportunity, Achieving the Extension Mission Through Volunteers. The program is an online cohort course designed to build staff and organizational capacity around volunteer management and development. The course targets Extension professionals across all subject matter areas who work with volunteers to enhance and deliver Extension programs. Last year colleagues from each program area participated.
Recruitment is beginning now for participation in the 2019 cohorts! With a limited number of spots available, interested staff members are encouraged to register early to be included in this learning experience designed to enhance staff success in all aspects of volunteer management. During the six-week period, participants will engage in pre-recorded sessions; readings; activities and three live webinars. Staff will also develop connections with colleagues from other states as they share ideas, provide feedback on volunteer management concepts and explore strategies to meet the needs of new volunteers.
Staff members in the North Central Region are eligible for early registration at a reduced cost of $100. After October 1, registration will open to participants nationwide at a rate of $250.
