Updated Policy on Payment of Judging Fees to Extension Agents

Submitted by Jim Lindquist

The policy on Payment of Judging Fees to Extension Agents has been updated and is available under Personnel on the K-State Extension Policies page of the Employee Resources Web site:
http://www.ksre.k-state.edu/employee_resources/policies/docs/index.html.

The policy states that honorariums, judging fees, etc., for Extension agents in excess of mileage and subsistence is an expenditure that is not approved from appropriated funds. This statement is applicable whether or not the agent uses vacation leave and is applicable to fair and other events requiring judging. Other guidelines apply when the funds are being paid by fair boards, 4-H Councils or other entities and the agent is using vacation leave to fulfill the judging request. Please read the policy for full details.
