4-H KAP Revision Process & Taskforce
The department of Kansas 4-H Youth Development has received much feedback in the past several years regarding the Kansas 4-H Award Portfolio (KAP) form. We recognize that the current KAP forms may no longer meet the needs of our youth development programming efforts. A taskforce has been assembled to assess the needs and desired outcomes of 4-H record keeping and project recognition.
Taskforce members include:
Monica Thayer, River Valley District, 4-H Youth Development
Carla Nemecek, Southwind District, Ag & Natural Resources
Karla Hightower, Marais des Cygnes District, 4-H Youth Development
Susan Schlichting, Cottonwood District, 4-H Youth Development
Amy Collins, Stafford County, Family & Consumer Sciences
Sarah Keatley, State 4-H Office
Beth Hinshaw, SE Area 4-H Youth Development Specialist
Amy Sollock, SW Area 4-H Youth Development Specialist
Early taskforce discussions have identified the following priorities as we begin to revise and/or develop a new system:
1) forms/process that is user-friendly and accessible by all,
2) forms that are straight forward
3) forms/process that use current technology, i.e. mobile device app and/or web-based
Please stay tuned for information as we work through this process. We plan to get input from various stakeholders when appropriate, including youth, parents and volunteers. Our hope is to have something in place for the 2019/2020 4-H year, but it may be only ready to pilot at that time. It's just too early to tell. Please feel free to direct questions or constructive feedback to asllock@ksu.edu.
