January Partnership Reminder and Connection Information
Dear Extension Council Members and Local Unit Extension Professionals:
This is a reminder that on Wednesday, January 30, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., we will be launching the third of our new generation of Partnership Meetings. As a reminder, the reason for switching to a new Partnership Meeting format was to have more frequent contact with our local unit partners and to allow more Extension Council members to participate.
The Zoom connection information is listed at the bottom. We should have enough Zoom connections, but we encourage local units to meet together to engage in the Partnership Meetings whenever possible.
The focus of this meeting, based on local unit suggestions, will be to welcome and orient our new Extension Council members. Topics for our meeting will include:
• An overview of the importance of Extension and Extension Councils by State Extension Advisory Council Chair Larry Justice,
• An overview of Extension Council member responsibilities by Laurie Chandler and former State Extension Advisory Council member and former K-State Research and Extension Shawnee County Extension Board Chair Lisa Pfannenstiel-Garrison,
• An Extension Board exercise led by K-State Research and Extension Johnson County Extension Director Tara Markley,
• And short overviews of professional scheduling, the Kansas Open Meetings Act, and the memorandum of understanding between local units and Kansas State University.
We will also be announcing the results of our State Extension Advisory Council Elections!
As a reminder about Zoom – it allows two way conversation, either through audio or through a chat box. Hopefully there will be a lot of you attending this meeting, and, with that in mind, we would encourage participants to use the chat box option.
