Engineering Extension Hosts Energy Conservation Expo in Wichita

Submitted by David A. Carter

Energy Conservation Expo

The Kansas Energy Program (KEP) within K-State Engineering Extension will host an Energy Conservation Expo at the Exploration Place in Wichita, on Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The goal of the expo is to educate Kansas residents on how they can save energy and money this winter and beyond.

There will be hands-on activities, an electric bus to explore, opportunities to visit with companies providing energy conservation and efficiency opportunities, and prizes, which include gift baskets, programmable thermostats, books and other energy-related items. Located in Waterway Hall, there is no cost to attend the Expo and the first 100 people will receive free admission to the Exploration Place.

The Energy Conservation Expo is sponsored by the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC), whose mission is to connect “Kansans to objective information about conservation, efficiency and alternative energy.” KCC recently issued a consumer alert warning Kansas residents of rising fuel prices this winter. Prepare for the colder winter months by learning how to save energy and money through efficiency and conservation.
