Walk Kansas Registration is Open

Submitted by Sharolyn Jackson

Walk Kansas 2022 registration is open! This 8-week health initiative is offered by K-State Research and Extension, and those working toward Health Quest credits can earn 4 points by participating. All KSRE employees are welcome to participate at no cost. Walk Kansas begins March 27, and continues through May 21. You can participate as a member of a 6-person team or through the solo program.

K-State employees are encouraged to register in the county where they live. You will need a discount code for free registration so contact your local extension office or sharolyn@ksu.edu for that code before you register. Registration is available through April 2.

This year, program information (weekly newsletters and more) will focus on how physical activity, nutrition and other lifestyle factors promote a healthy mind, improve focus, help manage or prevent depression, and help delay the onset or prevent dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Participants will log minutes or steps of physical activity, and cups of fruits/vegetables they consume, through an online portal.

More details about the program and the link to registration can be found at www.walkkansas.org. If you have questions, contact your local Extension Office or Sharolyn Jackson, K-State Research and Extension FCS Specialist, sharolyn@ksu.edu.
