What's New in Community Development?

May 3-5, the Community Vitality PFT is holding a spring outing in Lenexa, KS to see "What's New in Community Development?” Community Vitality PFT Members will meet on Tuesday, May 3, at the Lenexa Library, 8778 Penrose, from 1-5 p.m.

On Wednesday, we invite all interested Extension professionals to join the PFT at the Lenexa City Center starting at 8:30 a.m. for a behind-the-scenes tour, including the Farmers Market, and Lenexa Economic Development efforts. Registration will be limited to 22 people. Wednesday afternoon we are back at the Lenexa Library Meeting Room 2 to hear about United Community Services Housing Resources and their Housing Toolkit. Marlin Bates will tell about Douglas County CORE, and the Kansas Department of Commerce will tell about their wide range of programs to help small businesses and local communities.

Thursday, May 5, we’ll have a half-day program with “How to Start a Business” and “Supporting Local Entrepreneurs.” We’ll hear from KC Sourcelink, Network Kansas, and Northeast Kansas Enterprise Facilitation.
