988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

Submitted by Elaine Johannes

988 number

As of July 16, 2022, US residents can reach a trained crisis counselor through the 3-digit Suicide & Crisis Lifeline phone number: 9-8-8.

In Kansas, 988 is answered by trained staff of the Kansas Suicide Prevention Headquarters (KSPHQ) which is hosting online information sessions on the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and what the rollout of 988 means for Kansans all across the state.

Register here [www.ksphq.org/trainings] for up-coming webinars to learn more about 988 and what you can do to help Suicide Prevention moving forward.

Contact members of the KSRE Stress and Resiliency transdisciplinary team to learn about the stress and suicide prevention resources (e.g., QPR training) offered through the team.
