Dear Kansas 4-H Shooting Sports Team,
I want to personally congratulate you on winning the Tom Davison Sweepstakes Trophy! You brought it home to Kansas for the first time ever, and we are so proud. I know each of you put in an enormous amount of work to reach this goal. Kansas is so blessed to have such talented and enthusiastic young people representing us on the national stage. I grew up hunting and shooting with my dad and grandfather. I still continue to be an active outdoorsman.
I want to encourage you to continue to participate in and enjoy shooting sports. They are part of our heritage as Americans and it brings me great joy to see a new generation continuing this legacy. You are all exceptional young people and I believe the skills and lessons you have learned will continue to be useful throughout your life. Keep making Kansas proud!
