Foundations of Youth Development Offered

We invite staff to attend the fall Foundations of Youth Development training course.

Dates include:
• October 6, 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom
• October 27, 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom
• November 3, 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom
• November 9: In person Capstone in Manhattan

Participants will:
• Understand the science and practice of Positive Youth Development and the role 4-H Youth Development plays.
• Explore the research base of positive youth development and the science of learning and development that is reflected in the 4-H Thriving Model.
• Discover the critical elements of programs necessary to ensure a high-quality experience.
• Create an environment of learning and connecting.
• Learn how to create age appropriate learning experiences.
• Explore the experiential learning model.
• Understand and apply ways to leverage volunteers to grow and sustain programs.
• Explore ways to utilize the ISOTURE model.
• Understand and apply program management practices for successful 4-H programing including: policy, the volunteer screening process, financial management, 4-H club and project resources and management, youth and adult partnerships and event management.
