WRAPS Group Sponsors Area Tour of Cover Crops
The public is invited to attend a cover crop field tour planned for Tuesday, September 13, and focused on answering producer questions about using cover crops for soil health improvement and as part of a livestock grazing system.
The tour will begin in Inman, Kansas, and the second stop will take place in Moundridge, Kansas, where participants will visit two cover crop fields. Both stops are hosted by local landowners and producers. Both stops will feature talks and question/answer opportunities with K-State Research and Extension specialists, NRCS staff and local producers.
The morning’s tour will have discussions about different seed mixes, biomass, alternative watering systems for grazed cover crops, manure management and more. The program begins at 8 a.m. in Inman and will end by 10:30 a.m. in Moundridge. Coffee and pastries will be provided to participants.
More information about speakers, topics and locations can be found on the Kansas Center for Agricultural Resources and the Environment website. No registration for this event is required.
