The National Extension Framework for Health Equity and Well-being recommends using community development strategies and health literacy programs to ensure that everyone has a fair and just opportunity to be as healthy as possible. The following resources help us improve well-being for all, and achieve Healthy Kansas 2030 and Healthy People 2030 objectives.
Workplaces can Protect Worker Mental Health: The June 4 blog from the University of California’s Greater Good Science Center reported that companies can take four actions towards helping their employees manage stress and address mental health challenges at the workplace. Understand Health Coverage Access for Kansas’ Hispanic Communities: Kansas Health Institute (KHI) invites everyone to attend their June 27 (Thursday) 10am-11:30am webinar focused on health coverage for Hispanic communities across Kansas. Recent data about health coverage will be revealed and a panel of experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities to ensure equitable access to health care for Hispanic people. Rural Climate Partnership Report on Greenhouse Gasses: A recent report from the Rural Climate Partnership revealed that rural residents, especially low-income and communities of color, are exposed to unhealthy greenhouse emissions. Read the report produced with data from the US EPA here. Environmental data for Kansas is available through the KDHE Environmental Tracking website.
