Sollock to be Western Regional Extension Director
I'm pleased to announce that Amy Sollock has accepted the position of Western Regional Extension Director beginning July 7, 2024.
Amy has vast experience within western Kansas. She currently is a regional 4-H extension specialist, providing support for the local units in the southwest part of Kansas. Her local unit experience was spent in three locations. She was county extension director in Trego and Edwards counties and 4-H extension agent in Ford County. Passion and dedication to western Kansas are the foundation of her duties to the people of the region.
Sollock’s educational background includes a master’s degree in agriculture education from Oklahoma State University in agriculture education/extension education, and a bachelor’s degree in agricultural and environmental communications and education from the University of Illinois. Interestingly, she has had educational responsibilities in 4-H youth development, agriculture and natural resources, and family and consumer sciences along with local unit director experience.
Our appreciation goes out to the search committee and Jami Clark for their diligence in searching, screening and interviewing applicants for this position. Serving on search committees can be a challenging position and I extend my gratitude to the members: Aliesa Woods, Jonathan Aguilar, Crystal Bashford, Sandra Johnson, Lacey Noterman, Kristin Penner, Kurt Werth, Anne Lampe and Aaron Hyland.
Please take a moment and welcome Amy to the position representing the western region!
