KSRE/KDA Direct to Consumer Sales/Farmers Market Vendor Conference

Submitted by Londa Nwadike

Registration for the KSRE/KDA Farmers Market/Direct-to-Consumer Sales Conference is now available at https://www.fromthelandofkansas.com/page/farmers-market-regional-workshops. More information, including the agenda, is also available on that website. We will be putting out a press release, flyers and social media posts on this soon, but I wanted to be sure to share information with all of you as soon as possible, so that you can get information out to your contacts as well.

This year, participants can either join in the conference completely online or they can join a "watch party" at 17 different local Extension offices that have kindly (THANK YOU!) offered to host these. When registering, participants will need to select to join the event virtually or in-person and then after selecting "in-person," participants can select which of the 17 available watch party locations they want to attend.

We also plan to post the recordings within a few days of the event.

There will be lunch and learn sessions on January 31 - February 3, from noon - 1, and then the main workshop will be on Friday, February 4, from 8:30 a.m - 1 p.m. The details of each of the presentations are included on the website. One other note- participants can still get their sales scales certified for free as part of their registration ($5) for the conference. They will be asked when they register about the number of scales they would like to get tested. Participants will be contacted after registration to let them know when and where they can bring their scale to get tested. The testing will likely be in February/early March.

A huge thank you to the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Alternative Crops (KCSAAC) and the Kansas Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE) for their continued generous financial support of the workshops.

Please feel free to let Londa Nwadike, lnwadike@ksu.edu, know if you have any questions on the conference.
