Reflection, Giving and Hope

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

Next week is the third Tuesday Letter of the month, which means we will have an article from a guest featured writer. You will not want to miss that! The following week, the Tuesday Letter will go on its normal one-week hiatus for the winter holidays. That means this is the last Tuesday Letter for me prior to the winter holidays. This is my holiday message.

The winter holidays are a traditional time of reflection, giving and hope. I like reflecting on extension, our system and our mission. Extension is a profession of giving and hope. More to the point, our gift of hope is empowering them with the research, facilitation and education they need to make better informed decisions that will improve their lives, livelihoods and communities. Between October 2020 and October 2021, we made 2,409,224 direct and indirect educational contacts. This means we gave people hope 2,409,224 times. Well done and thank you!

Now, let yourself:
• get some much-needed rest during the holidays.
• recharge.
• spend time with your family and friends.
• reflect on your successes.
• hope for a better new year.
• make plans so that your hopes and dreams turn into a reality in 2022.

Happy holidays!
