Environmental Health and Safety: A Commitment

Submitted by Sandra Hoffman

According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), “Agriculture ranks among the most hazardous industries in the United States.” Agriculture workers are at high risk for fatal and nonfatal, debilitating injuries. K-State’s College of Agriculture is dedicated to providing you, your colleagues, and students a safe working and learning environment.

Dean Floros has communicated his commitment to environmental health and safety through:

• A signed a commitment statement on health and safety and protecting the environment, and
• A “Welcome from the Dean” video directed at new hires and employees whose job duties have changed possibly exposing them to new hazards.

You are encouraged to view both at http://www.ksre.k-state.edu/agsafe/commitment/.
