Southwest Kansas Food and Farm Systems with Kansas Rural Center
The Kansas Rural Center would like to invite you to attend a special Southwest Kansas Food and Farm Systems meeting Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the K-State Southwest Research -Extension Center in Garden City.
Please invite anyone you know who is working on or deeply knowledgeable about the challenges in food and/or farm systems in Southwest Kansas.
Among the goals for KRC:
- Help identify and discuss through round tables and a SWOT analysis the overarching opportunities and challenges in your specific sector of food systems/food access and/or farm systems. [farm/production, processing, distribution, retail, home settings]
- Help identify who should be part of this conversation: who is actively working to advance the farm and food system in specific food chain sectors in southwest Kansas?
Follow up gatherings will be April 26 in Liberal and April 27 in Dodge City. The information gleaned from all three gatherings go into a report, called, “Feeding Southwest Kansas Assessment and Recommendations.”
