What’s Cape—and Why Does It Matter for Extension?

Submitted by Trisha Greene

Did You Know? Cape is Here!

Cape (YourCape.org) is a career and professional empowerment portal designed to meet the unique needs of early childhood professionals by providing a comprehensive online platform. It’s a one-stop shop where professionals can:

  • Find and sign up for trainings
  • Track their progress and career milestones
  • Manage professional growth—all in one place

Instead of juggling multiple systems, Cape makes things simple so professionals have the tools they need to thrive and can focus more on what really matters—caring for children and families.

How Can Extension Agents Help?

At the Child Care and Early Learning Systems TDT Pre-Conference on October 20, KCCTO will introduce Cape and show us how Extension Agents can play a role.

They’ll train us to become Cape Ambassadors. That means we’ll learn how to use the system and then help our local providers navigate Cape back in our communities.

This is important because Cape will soon be the centralized location where professionals access most training opportunities needed for licensure. Providers will need Cape, and we can be the friendly, local faces that guide them through the transition.

Let’s work with KCCTO to make this change smooth, fun, and exciting for our providers. We already know them; we care about them—now we can help them succeed with Cape!
