K-State Salina UAS Department Hosting New FAA Part 108 Overview Webinar Regarding Drone Usage

Submitted by Kris Grinter

K-State Salina is hosting a free webinar about FAA drone updates on Sept. 4 at 12 p.m.

The FAA has announced the release of its newest regulations regarding Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations, also known as Part 108. As faculty and staff of K-State Salina, we want to ensure you have the most up-to-date information regarding the UAS industry and the impact of these future regulations, and are prepared for what this could mean for you.

We will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, September 4, at 12:00 pm CDT to walk through what the FAA has announced and what to expect in the future. During the webinar, we will discuss the status of Part 108 and the public review and commentary process. We will also discuss what Part 108 will mean for you, drone operations and the future of UAS. Topics will include a summary of the Part 108 regulations, including guidance on detect-and-avoid, minimum operational standards, integrations into national airspace, certification and training requirements.
